High Falls Resort

As I sit here with a broken foot, I remember High Falls to be a wonderful adventure. I drove up Saturday morning, arriving around 1 p.m. I found the General Store to be similar as New Forest's new General Store, the front office was part of the store. The pool is heated and was a comfortable 89F on the day of our visit.

The hot tub (with waterfall) was 102F. It was very nice to stand under the waterfall,(if you could get Shelley out of the way) as it felt like a high powered shower. ;)

I stayed in one of the 12 motel rooms. They have mini kitchens with bar fridge, sink and cupboards. The bathrooms have new tub-surrounds.

I got to experience one of the cabins, and must say it was very cozy. 2 bedrooms, with a bathroom between, were at the back of the cabin. The front half was open concept kitchen/ livingroom. Lots of space and no one felt left out of any conversation.

The trails were navigatable, and are being groomed. There are 2 sand beaches, with water craft available. I got to ride on a water-bike type of craft, that seats 2. We took it to the water trampoline. However, not everyone will be dumped into the river.

Paddle boats and plastic kayaks are also free to the visitors. There were also 2 large slides attached to a single pontoon tied up to the trampoline. High Falls has a large childrens play area with LittleTots buildings, slides and castles.

There are apparently 5 water falls on the property although I only saw 2, and fell in the smaller of the two. RobD was going to photograph me on the rocks, but in getting to my spot, I fell slamming my right foot into a rock, and breaking my toe and cracking a bone further back in my foot. I'm almost afraid to ask how many pictures he took of me falling. lol

The bonfire Saturday night, was awesome. Lots of good music, good food, marshmallows, and dancing.

I was told they may have another open house for nudists in September. Try to arrange to visit this place. They are hoping to attract enough nudists to make it feasible as a full time nudist resort by May 2005.

They are a textile place for the summer as they have bookings from regulars. Let's show them it's possible to have a nudist resort in Bracebridge.
