It was late in 1996 that found two individuals, Don and Denise, who had never met, both involved in difficult divorces--each after more than 25 years of marriage. Perhaps it was fate that both should be avid computer enthusiasts. That link was about to bring them together.

As unlikely as one might think, somehow these two souls managed to find each other through an Internet matching service-- Don, a New Hampshire native, Navy veteran, photographer, sailor, skier, fitness fanatic, general "country loving" nut and (gasp) a newcomer to the world of naturism-- Denise, a Pennsylvania native, well educated, registered nurse, theater and opera loving, fitness fanatic, living in a refined area of Richmond, Virginia and working as an administrator at a large medical management corporation.

It wasn't much more than two months of intensive correspondence and phone calls when an irresistible force compelled them to meet. It was during this "getting to know you period" that Don hesitantly confessed he was forever hooked on his new experience with naturism. Much to his amazement, he discovered Denise had been a restrained "wannabe" naturist all her life! As you probable surmise from the title of this little story, "the rest was, history"!

Lovesick Don proposed to Denise in October of 1997 and the poor girl, hopelessly in love with this curious fellow from the deep woods... accepted! She packed up her things, said good-bye to her family, friends and great job of eight years, left civilization and headed north to join Don in the clear, cold, mountain air of New Hampshire. They immediately set plans for a small, unique wedding that would help erase the pain of their past experiences.

Denise being the meticulous researcher she is, discovered the Hawksbill resort located on a secluded peninsula on the south side of the Caribbean island of Antigua. It seemed to have all the ingredients the two lovers could possibly desire for starting a new life together. Antigua has unbounded beauty and a reputation for tranquil weddings that proved to be right on target! As it turns out, this island paradise had won the 1997 World Travel Award for the Best Honeymoon Destination. The two were married January 16, 1998 on a picturesque point of land overlooking the beaches and namesake coral formation of the resort, the "Hawksbill".

It is difficult to embellish the accompanying pictures with words. The surroundings of the Hawksbill resort and Antigua are nothing short of magnificent! Although "pricey" and somewhat isolated from other areas on the island, the resort facilities and the accommodations in the little beach cabanas are rather modest. However, the friendly personnel and the absolutely delightful Antiguan people, spectacular beaches and vistas made the expense seem most worthwhile!

Hawksbill offers amenities one would expect such as free sailing with their small fleet of Sunfish sailboats, snorkeling, water skiing and tour boats (for a fee), and (alas) only one tennis court that was occupied most of the time by their tennis pro. Easily, the feature of this resort are the four separate beaches. The "4th beach" is the largest and most secluded, and is the island's only sanctioned "clothing optional" area. It proved to be the most popular not only with the Hawksbill guests, but with guests from surrounding resorts who wished they had elected to stay there too! Needless to say, our two newlyweds spent a great deal of their time developing the darkest, line-less tans of their lives! They have promised a 1st anniversary return at the very least!

After Antigua, Don and Denise returned to Don's winter paradise where naturism is a bit more of a challenge! However, being the enterprising individuals they are, they are discovering some neat sites around New England that can sustain them until they can find time to return to their Caribbean paradise.
