Nudist Experiences and Club Orient, St. Martin.
I've always enjoyed the outdoors. In the 1970's I was working as a road musician. Working at night had it's advantages. At almost every location we played, I was able to find a secluded place to enjoy the out doors nude. I guess I've been a part time naturist for most of my life. When ever possible I'd go nude but never around other people. After I quit the road and came home my life became pretty stressful and quite hectic. I knew I needed something to relieve the stress and I started thinking about the great feelings I had hiking through the forests nude and skinny-dipping in secluded mountain lakes and ponds.
So I decided to find a nudist club in my area and give that a try. It was the best choice I could ever make. Suprisingly, I met people that I knew (even one co-worker) that I had no idea were nudists. That summer was an wonderful and exciting summer for me. That was fifteen years ago. I was fortunate to have a job that allowed me to go to the club almost every day. I guess the thing that I enjoyed most, besides the freedom of not wearing clothes was the real people that I met. People of all ages, families and from all walks of life.
A couple of years later I met my wife. I told her that I enjoyed both indoor and outdoor activities nude. She said that it wasn't for her. I think that she figured nudity should be kept to the bedroom and the bathroom so I didn't push the subject.
About a year later we went on a Carribean cruise. One of the stops was St. Martin. We took a cab to Orient Beach. Once on the beach we just kind of relaxed and went swimming (with suits). I told her that I had heard of a nude resort down the beach and maybe we could check it out. Once we were among nude beachgoers I took off my suit and went for a swim. Soon she was beside me (nude) and said she'd decided to give it a try. The water felt great and I was happy that she was experiencing something that I'd enjoyed for several years.
The following year we were planning where to go for our vacation and her first choice was Club Orient on St. Martin. We both agreed that it was the best vacation either one of us had ever been on. As Patti Logan said "Time seemed to stand still". The people me met were great and it didn't make any difference whether you were rich, middle class or whatever. We can't wait to go back!
We have a swimming pool and during the summer we are both in the pool or sunbathing nude as much as possible. We're also building a new home on some secluded acrage we own so we can get out of the rat-race of the city and live the lifestyle that we want to live.
We both don't shy away from telling people about nudism when the possibility presents itself. We've both noticed a change in our attitudes towards a lot of things and we are more relaxed since we've both adopted the nudist life style.
It makes working in a clothed enviroment more tolerable.
(update on the Club Orient trip.)
My wife and I spent two weeks at Club Orient. Loved every second of it. We too, walked the entire length of the beach nude almost every morning. Saw some clothed people but most were nude. It's usually that way before the cruise ships get in. The resturants along the beach are good. We had a few lunches at Bongo Byrans and a couple of dinners at the Con Tiki. The food and service there was great. I was surprised to find one of the venders at a gift shop working nude. We felt a little uncomfortable nude at the cruise ship end of the beach but I suppose the cruise ship people felt the same in front of Club Orient. I think we bothered them, but they sure didn't bother us.
ClubO is all you could ask for and more. I'm not sure why they call it clothing optional because I don't remember seeing anyone with even a swim suit on (except employees of the club.
We can't wait to go back.
