Cap d'Agde

HOLIDAY REPORT AUGUST 1994. On that occasion we each went to the
resort separately, each for two weeks. We each had our own
comments. Peter first...

The first thing to say about my two weeks is that the weather
throughout was very good, in fact the best two week spell that I
have ever had there. Temperatures were around 32c. (87f.). This
heat made it ideal for being naked for my whole time there
except for two evenings when I wore shorts and tee shirt to eat
in a restaurant. My stay is the longest time that I have
remained naked during my whole life and I certainly enjoyed it.
Although it has been a couple of years since I was last in
d'Agde I did not notice many changes. The only exception is the
new building just inside the entrance to the resort. This
contains the main letting agents offices and a post office.

What do I like about d'Agde? The clean beach and the freedom to
be naked at any time day or night. Also the large variety of
foods on offer which makes self-catering very easy.
What don't I like? The increase in dog ownership in the resort
means that there is dog dirt lying around. I think that
something will have to be done about this by the authorities
because it spoils the generally clean appearance of the place.
Another dislike was the late night Karioki sessions. I don't
mind being kept awake by professional musicians but having to
suffer amateurs is a bit much. I never want to hear "My Way"
sung again!

One incident that did tickle my sense of humour was seeing
someone thumbing through the pages of one of the many 'girlie'
magazines on display in one of the shops. Why would anyone want
to look at pictures of naked girls when you are surrounded by
the real thing? With that thought it's over to John.

And here I am. All tanned and like Peter, had a very fine
vacation in one of the best naturist resorts in the world. Quite
a statement but true. Every facility you can think of is catered
for. And all in the nude. Wishing I was back already.

Peter's last comments about the guys reading the girlie
magazines struck a chord with me. NO!. I wasn't one of those
guys. It just proves to me that nudity in itself doesn't mean
sex. Well we all know that don't we? But here we are in a
naturist resort and men stand and look through the pages of sex
magazines! And some of them buy them too.

During my second week at Cap d'Agde I got involved in taking
part in a naturist video being made by a British company to
promote the resort. As far as I know there has never been a
naturist video made about the resort and one is long overdue.
The problem has always been that anyone can object to a camera
being used in d'Agde and many do. Police can confiscate not only
the film/video tape, but the equipment too. On this occasion
permission was obtained from those in authority and so they
could shoot in the public areas of the resort as long as they
were accompanied by two police. They were of course free to film
whatever they wanted in private apartments.

The part I took was being interviewed, giving my views about Cap
d'Agde. It seemed quite successful but only when the video is
released, hopefully before the end of the year, that I'll know
just how much of my part was used. The title of the video by the
way will be "Cap d'Agde - The Naked City". In the meantime we've
got our own holiday video to edit and try to get into some kind
of order. During our visit to Cap d'Agde and the surrounding
area we managed to video a small French Air Force jet display,
some French trains, the nearest town, Agde with it's ancient
cathedral built in the ninth century and outdoor market. Cap
d'Agde not only has the naturist resort, part of the area of the
Cap contains a large "textile" holiday area with many complexes
built around harbours. One of the largest of these had in the
harbour an old galleon which had featured in the film "Pirate".
We got some video of that too. So you can see we managed to find
quite a bit of interest on holiday. Here's to the next one.
