| Le Blouch Beach, St. Tropez, France. May 2005. I have today read the report on the Blouch beach near St Tropez and was disappointed to read the comments. (Note from Jan: I have removed that report as it was sent to me in 2000 and was old.) I have visited this beach every year for the last five years and can only think that your correspondent went on a bad day. The nude content is at least 60 percent nowadays, some topless and a few in swimsuits. The beach is close to two mobile home sites (Toison D'Or and Kon Tiki) and I can only surmise that there are always a few "first timers" who have strayed there or who are plucking up the courage to go fully nude, as both my wife and I did some years ago. I cannot praise this beach too highly. It has a friendly atmosphere, a number of fine beach bar / restaurants, easy access and good parking. Added to which the weather is fabulous, especially in July, August and September. Perhaps we Europeans feel a little less inhibited in front of the odd textile. You must go. Thanks Rob and Jane for the trip report. |
| Les Calunqs, Cassis. The Calanques are located in south east France in Provence near the town of Cassis. Access is either from the parks main parking lot or walking from the town of Cassis along the coast. There is also a weekend ferry from Cassis once a day in and out. Cars left overnight are often broken into, so I would strongly recommend walking or ferrying from Cassis. The walk is long and there is no water available anywhere in the park so bring enough liquids to last... (click link to read the rest of the report.) |

| Cap D'Agde - 2004. I have just returned from Cap D'Agde where I spent two weeks with my partner and wanted to give you all my views on the experience. I had been wanting to go to the Cap since I first heard about it many years ago and it was all in all an enjoyable experience but you need to be prepared that this is not your 'average' Naturist resort. The accommodation is spread between apartments and villas and there is also a large campsite area with log cabins and free ground for bringing your own camper van and/or tent. The apartments are split into three areas but all in all they essentially look the same, Port Ambonne, Port Nature and Heliopolis are all white, concrete, very dated looking constructions but all have large balconys though the apartments themselves are pretty small and basic.... | Cap d'Agde Report. In July 2000, I made my second visit to Cap d'Agde, travelling with Peng Travel. Outward journey was from Manchester Airport to Montpellier via London Gatwick. On the way there, as the plane was loading at Gatwick, I spotted somebody I was at school with getting on. At the airport at Montpellier, I realised he had an Emsdale label on his luggage, so I introduced myself to him (we didn't actually know each other very well at school as he's 3 years older than me). He was also en-route to Cap d'Agde, and turned out to be going there for eight weeks (yes, EIGHT weeks) where he's the resident saxophonist on Thursday and Sunday evenings in Johnny Wokkers bar!... | Cap d'Agde--The Naked City. Are you looking for something uniquely different from anything you've ever experienced? Cap d'Agde in the South of France, on the Mediterranean Sea, is a place you will have to investigate. There is something here for everyone. Long considered a Mecca for nudists, Cap d'Agde is pretty much everything you've read or heard--nudity is common-place on the street, in the hotel, in bars and restaurants, in gift shops and grocery stores--all with virtually NO restriction. It's truly a wonderful nudist experience. However, there are other things you will come to realize very quickly about Cap d'Agde... (click preceding link to read the rest of the report.) |

| Cap D'Agde is to nudists what Mecca is to Muslims: any nudist who can conceivably go during their lifetime should go to Cap D'Agde to experience nudism on a whole different level than what is offered in the United States. Getting there may have been the hardest part for me. I live on the West Coast, and prior to this trip I had never flown farther than Hawaii. Thankfully the flights, although long, weren't too bad. It also helped that I booked an escorted tour with Through Our Eyes Travel. Claudine and Paul are excellent tour guides and help you navigate your way through the often confusing process of traveling in a foreign country... | Cassis and Marseille. September 2005. Cassis is the first town to the east of Marseille. It lies on an extraordinary beautiful bay between a giant cliff, Cap Canaille, and a lower rock formation out of which a number of calanques (like small fjords) have been carved by the sea and the wind. On the way to the calanques there are a series of small rock beaches that are almost entirely nude. As you drive into Cassis, follow the signs to the Plage de Bestouan and the calanques. Park at the parking lot just beyond the Plage de Bestouan, a little sandy beach at the bottom of a hill. The Plage de Bestouan is textile. The rock beaches are entirely unserviced, so you will have to bring your own water and food, which you can buy at the little sandwich shack just beyond the parking lot. Walk up the hill in the direction you were driving. You will pass an apartment building (le Weekend!) and a hotel on your left, and some private houses. There is a fork in the road. The left fork is a gated road (l’Impasse du Littoral) with an open entryway for pedestrians Continue down l’Impasse for about 100 yards and you will see a sign for access to the sea. You clamber down the rocks and you will see a large series of flat rocks on which people spread towels. Wear competent shoes; flip-flops won’t do it unless you have very tough feet. A large painted sign proclaims the beach as nudist - although it is not official. Few if any people wear clothes. The water is quite cold. To swim you dive off the low rocks. To get back out of the water you can use a rope at the near side of the beach or a ladder at the far side. The beach itself is about 100 yards long. Because the beach is fairly arduous to reach the people there are in much better shape than the people on the beach in St. Tropez. There are few if any gawkers for the same reason, although tour boats come by in the water. If instead of taking the left fork you continue on the road, you will see an occasional trash can on the sidewalk.

| Creuze Nature, Boussac, Limousine. July 2004. Visited here for the first time in July 2004. The camp is in a delightful wooded area west of the town of Boussac. The site is dominated by the 'Rotunda' in which are housed the bar, indoor swimming pool, showers, WC, laundrey etc. The camp is owned, operated and managed by a very friendly Dutch couple, many of the staff and also their guests are also Dutch, about 90% when we were there, though this did not prove a problem at all, as many also speak English. The small town of Boussac is based around a medieval hill top fort and pre French revolution chateau. There are two main supermarkets Champion and Attac both of which sell fuel during working hours. There is a market which takes over the 'new' square on a Thursday with many stalls, this square also houses the post office and local tourist information office. We were able to make it from Dunquerk to Boussac in one move, only using the peage to bypass Orleans during the day as they are putting a new TGV rail line through the town and the traffic is in chaos. Would we return to Creuz Nature? Possibly, but not for two weeks. Thanks David W. for the report! |
| Etre Naturiste. This is a French naturiste website, where you can find pictures, a naturist forum, all the naturist places in France, the beaches, the clubs.... and more. Note: this website is in french. Visit the website for additional information. |
| Euronat. While touring the southwest of France in the summer of 2003, we stopped at Euronat, claimed by many to be the largest (and by some accounts, nicest) naturist resort in all of Europe. In all fairness, the weather was marginal that day and thus we may not have seen the place in the best light, but here are a few of our perceptions. Indeed, Euronat is absolutely huge. I would almost compare it to a large subdivision from American suburbia, divided into several neighborhoods named after different continents... | Euronat. Based in the Bordeaux region of France, Euronat is a few miles from Montlivet, in the Medoc wine growing area. With vineyards of every shape and size in the area. The accommodation comprises chalets, which are either rented or owner occupied, a large tented area and an area for caravans and motor homes... | The European Naturist Resort Guide. The naturist Terrain Guide is an independent initiative to create a well structured source of information for all people searching for their ideal naturist holiday resort. This guide will give you clear information in 4 languages about most naturist resorts in European countries. We still have a limited number of resorts with extended terrain information. We hope to improve this in the near future. Possibly you can help us in achieving this and inform terrain managers during your holiday of the existence of this website. We also would appreciate if you could help us completing, improving and correcting our database. Let us know if you find any errors, mistakes, mistypes, etc, or if you have any other good idea in improving our site. Of course we offer camping owners the possibility to exploit a full-blown website on the internet and present their terrain for a worldwide audience. Also included is a sample letter to write to resorts asking for information. This sample letter is in six languagues. Visit the site for additional information. |

| La Grande Cosse in the south of France. Summer of 2005. I spent a little time there last summer and thought it was great. The place is clean and well kept and the weather was sunny, dry and hot. The beach is a little walk from the resort, about 500 to 1000 meters, there is a little restaurant there. The beach was great, it was about a mile from textile beaches on either side and big enough to have as much space as you need... but, by the entrance to the walkway to the resort it was quite crowded. We usually stayed right there as the sand was pretty hot to walk on (except by the water.) The age ranges were completely varied from kids to senior citizens. However, I'd say most of the people were familes with children/teens. We felt comfortable and the people from all over the world were extremely nice and gracious. Bottom line... You can't go wrong, you will love it. This report is brought to you by Joe. He can be found on the message board under the name 'joebach'. |
| La Jenny Report. 2005. Firstly, a big thank you to all of you that took the time to write a review about La Jenny and to Jan at NetNude for posting them. My family and I had been to the usual haunts in Fuerteventura, and Gran Canaria and been on the naturist sections there but it seemed like an all different beast to go to a naturist resort. Well, we were right, it was. The night before we hooked up the bikes to the car and set off first thing in the morning to get the ferry to Dunkirk. Uneventful journey down to Dover and crossed with Norfolkline. The ferry was basic to say the least and not particularly clean so we had to watch our 2 year old the whole time so we won't be using them again but at the time they were cheap and got us over to France which is all they had to do. We had broken the journey into two sections but reading previous posts had not booked ahead. The plan was to drive until the kids got unbearable (6 yrs and 2 yrs) and then find somewhere to stop. Important advice for anyone taking kids. Invest in an in-car DVD Player, it was a god send in the hours to follow. I won't dwell too long on the journey but with the kids needing constant wee stops, it seemed to take forever... (click link to read the rest of the report.) |
| La Jenny, South West France, Report. 1997, 1999, 2001. This report is actually a compilation of our last THREE visits to La Jenny, on the south Atlantic coast of France about 45 minutes from Bordeaux.I submit this partially as a form of therapy as we have just made plans to visit yet again this next summer and that seems light years away as we sit here in cold, drizzly Pennsylvania. My wife and I first visited La Jenny in the summer of 1997 at the urging of a naturist pen pal. He had raved about the amazing atmosphere unlike anything he had experienced in The States. After kicking the idea around for several years, we finally decided to spend five days of our European vacation in a small rented cottage at La Jenny... (click link to read the rest of the report.) |
| La Jenny Report. In August 2001, our family decided to take a holiday at La Jenny, a naturist resort on the coast of south west France. This was to be our first naturist holiday having previously enjoyed visits to naturist beaches from textile accommodation. We read up on all the available reviews on the Internet and booked direct with the resort... (click link to read the rest of the report.) |
| La Jenny Report. Summer 2001. My wife and I have spent most of our summer vacations in the nude. Our vacations were usually spent sailing, were nakedness is not a problem, as you are usually at some distance from the other boats, or from shore. We had our first baby last year and this means sailing is not on our list of activities any more for some time. We spent three weeks last summer at the "La Jenny" vacation resort in south-west France and were delighted with the experience. La Jenny is a naturist holiday resort on the Atlantic coast of France, west of Bordeaux, it is composed of very large grounds, with +/- 750 "chalets" (houses or cabans ranging from studio size to a complete house with four bedrooms and all modern equipment you need), about 8 tennis courts, a 4 holes golf ground with a club house, a wonderful beach with lifeguards on duty, a horse riding club for the kids, a kids club, a splendid swimming pool, a restaurant, a bar and so on. The personnel is multi-lingual and the guests came from a variety of European countries. The atmosphere was extremely relaxed and we really got disconnected from the everyday world in a matter of minutes. We had a very nice two levels chalet with two bedrooms and it was perfect for our needs (we were two adults and one baby). Some residents even live there part or most of the year. Altogether, it was a very nice holiday experience and we would certainly recommend it to anybody looking for family oriented family holidays. If you want to have a look at their web page, the URL is http://www.lajenny.fr/ Enjoy and have fun. Thanks Denis for the trip report. |

| St.Tropez, France. September 2005. St. Tropez, the famous center of French sensuality, has no nude beaches within its borders. The main beaches of St. Tropez are in Ramatuelle, an adjacent town with an extraordinary very long beach, le Plage de Pampellone. This beach is divided into over 20 private beaches, which alternate with a number of public beaches. Most of the Plage de Pampellone is textile (but as little textile as possible, thong/topfree), including a number of famous establishments like le Plage de Tahiti, le Plage 55 (made famous by Brigitte Bardot), le Voile Rouge (now with a branch in Miami) and Moorea Plage. The private beaches are open air restaurants bordering the beach, and to use the adjacent beach you have to rent a beach mattress and a beach umbrella. They have showers and bathrooms for their clients. The public beaches have no showers, bathrooms, or changing places, but there are stands that sell much better food than the food at Haulover and Gunnison. Much of the food at the private beaches rivals that of the better French bistros in New York, except at most of the New York bistros you can’t eat wearing only a bottom. At the two naturist private beaches, Neptune and Liberty, you can eat wearing nothing. To get to the nude section of the beach, you follow the road to the beaches of Ramatuelle from St. Tropez. Turn left at the Rue de Tamaris. Make the first right turn to the parking lot (signs for Blouch, Liberty, Neptune, la Materane). The public beach, la Materane, is at the bottom of the parking lot. The nude beach is a long, deep beach and there are a number of restaurants and stands at the back of the beach. There is a sign proclaiming it as a legal nude beach. The Neptune and Liberty are at the left of the public beach as you face the water. Kon Tiki, the private beach at the right of the public nude beach is textile. The majority of people using the public and private beaches are nude and the majority of the people wearing some bit of clothing are with someone wearing nothing.
