This picture gives the best idea of how nice the beach and climbing are. It was taken by my climbing partner on one of our trips to france. The Calanques are located in south east France in Provence near the town of Cassis. Access is either from the parks main parking lot or walking from the town of Cassis along the coast. There is also a weekend ferry from Cassis once a day in and out. Cars left overnight are often broken into, so I would strongly recommend walking or ferrying from Cassis. The walk is long and there is no water available anywhere in the park so bring enough liquids to last.
The Calanques are a perfect combination for the nudist climber, having both great sport rock climbing and a beautiful nudist beach. The main climbing area are the walls of a large deep bay which has a popular nudist beach. The beach is not a sand beach but comprised mostly of stones and pebbles. Overnight camping is not permitted and is monitored, but there are lots of places someone can bivy including caves high on the cliff walls.
Nudists is this area are very friendly and the ladies are decidedly forward in their friendliness proving that even nudists can be subject to culture shock. : )
