Playa del Carmen... sadly

Well, just got back from Mexico.

The beaches at playa are sadly reflecting a strong American influence now. Once the beach was predominantly topless with tops being the exception not the rule. That has changed as much as the accents on the tourists. Many more Americans now. The nude beach was often as populated as the textile beach, that too, sadly has changed.

Where once textile encroachment would only bring surprise and eye avoidance, now there is the snickering, staring, and juvenile giggling of the new American tourists. I fear that given a few more years there will be no nude beach at Playa Del Carmen. The Americans have just built a new massive hotel near the beach and the visitors are now walking up the north beach to check it out.

I guess those who want to swim nude will have to got farther south.....................again.
