COSTA NATURA JUNE 1997.

We're just back from a very nice vacation in the South of Spain.
We were at Costa Natura which is a naturist site on the Costa de
Sol just about forty minutes car ride from Gibraltar where we
landed from London Heathrow Airpost. The resort can also be
reached using Malaga Airport from the other direction. Going
that way the travel time to the resort is about twice as long
though. Our holiday arrangements were made through Peng Travel,
the company we use for naturist holidays, and as usual these
were first class.

On arrival at Gibraltar we left the airport and turned right for
a short walk to the border between Gib (a British Dependent) and
Spain. Walking is a much faster crossing than by car or bus as
formalities are at a minimum that way. Whenever you pass the
Spanish check point you turn right where the taxi rank is
located. It couldn't be easier. On arrival at Costa Natura the
taxi fare was paid by reception as the transfer from the airport
is included in the Peng package.

We got our keys and were given directions to our apartment. Some
of you may have read the report above about the resort by Peter
of London where he said that the apartments seem to be in
haphazard drifts as if scattered around the gardens by a giant
hand. Well that statement is very true and it gives the whole
place a very interesting visual look with none of the
regimentation of buildings as seen in many resorts.

Our apartment could sleep four which gave us plenty of room. It
was one floor up and consisted of lounge/kitchen and single bed
under the stairs which led up to the double bedroom. Also on the
lower floor was another single bedroom/sitting room. The
apartment was very clean and well equipped. The kitchen area had
sink and three ring hob. There was direct entry from the lounge
and the single bedroom onto the main balcony through sliding
windows. There was also a balcony off the main bedroom upstairs.
All very nice as the sun shone on our apartment from about 11am
to sunset.

The apartments are mostly privately owned and rented out to
visitors through the resort management. You may have seen many
of them advertised in the British Naturism Magazine small ads.
In that case you would likely have to make your own travel
arrangements to Costa Natura. We found the Peng package to be
competitively priced when compared with a private let
arrangement.

The resort has a well stocked mini-market and restaurant which
serves very good meals beside the pool. There's a Jacuzzi in
that area too. A new snack bar area has been opened overlooking
the beach along from the pool area. A very nice place for a
drink or light meal. There are areas set aside for most of the
activities that are popular with naturists, miniten, boules
etc..All the grounds are very well tended and the general
atmosphere is very pleasant and relaxing. There is a large beach
and although it is a bit stoney, it is clean. The only time you
need clothes is in the restaurant in the evening. You can even
shop nude in the mini-market.

If you don't have a car it is very easy to visit places of
interest in the Costa del Sol area. Reception can arrange coach
trips and there is a very good local bus service which goes
along the coast road to places both east and west of the resort.
The bus stops are right outside the entrance. You can even visit
Gibraltar for a day and shop at Safeway!! It's exactly like the
ones in the UK even to asking for your ABC Card at the
check-out.

Of the naturist holiday places we have visited we rate Costa
Natura as one of the best. We found the staff very pleasant and
they certainly run an excellent resort. We look forward to our
next visit.
