| Hidden River Resort Report. April 2001. In April 2001 the Jacksonville (Florida) Times Union newspaper published a tasteful yet 'revealing' article about this South Georgia clothing optional campground/resort. Reporting on a recent music festival, Nudie Blues, the article related the interaction between the resort owner, Barbara Hatten, and the traditionally conservative community in which she operates. While Hidden River had been clothing optional for 18 months at the time, most of the local residents had no idea that a nude campground was operating in their county. Not surprisingly, the news article pointed out that the Charlton County Sheriff's Office said that there have been absolutely no problems at the resort. Barbara said that her business decision to make the resort clothing optional resulted in a business improvement of 20 percent, averaging between 50 and 100 guests weekly throughout the year with patrons enjoying the comfortable Georgia/Florida climate nearly year round... | Serendipity Park Report. July 2004. I'm a 41 year old divorced male and I decided to write this out before I forgot all of the details. They say that your memory is the first to go. I'm not entirely convinced of that though...lol. Anyway, here it goes. I suppose that I should start by giving a little background. My brother and I were raised pretty much by just our mother and a couple of stepfathers that passed through our lives at different times. It was basically (as far as my mother was concerned) a traditionally religious upbringing with what I know and realize now as a moderately open, if not quiet, respect for nudity. As I think back now I can recall several times walking in on my mother taking a bath or shower and remembering that she didn't freak out. She would just ask what I needed. I started sleeping nude at a very young age and I actually thought I was getting away with something taboo until my mother brought it up one morning. Much to her credit we discussed sleeping nude in a very easy, mature way. I'm glad she didn't prohibit it but she did set up a few ground rules. Now that I'm older and wiser I realize that there wasn't much my mother didn't know about me or my brother. Go mom..lol...(click link to read the rest of the report.) |
| Serendipity Park Report. July 2004. This was the first time I had visited a naturist camp of any type and I was impressed. The Serendipity Park staff was extremely friendly and helpful with my first "initiation" visit. I started meeting people within 15 minutes of arriving and before I could even get my tent set up. The facilities are clean (pool, spa, sauna, etc.) and etiquette is strictly adhered to. I will be returning many more times and will probably even get a membership and I wouldn't hesitate in a minute to recommend Serendipity Park to anyone looking for a first time experience whether alone or with the family. The patrons and staff are very family oriented and singles friendly. Definitely should be on your "Give it a visit" list. Thanks Brian for the report! |
| Serendipity Park Report. Sunday, April 21, 2002. Since I had to visit Atlanta for a week for a job commitment, I chose to fly in on Saturday night and took Sunday to visit Serendipity Park. My wife and I had already visited another of Georgia's nudist parks, Hidden Valley, in Dawsonville, in 1996. However, since I had spoken with the owners - Paul and George - on AANR/ESA issues in the past, I thought I'd take this day and give "the 'dip" a try. I had called the day before, and asked if I would be welcomed as a married man whose wife is a nudist (and her name is on my AANR card) but she chose to stay home on this trip. No problem, as all are welcome at Serendipity. I headed from Atlanta's Perimeter Region, up I-85 to GA-400, and continued on it and after 400 ended, continued on another lengthy road - so it seemed like an endless drive. While it is in the 'Atlanta area', it must be noted that it is not a short drive. While I didn't keep track of mileage or time, I had to guess that it was around a 90 minute drive from the Perimeter region (Dunwoodie) area. A large portion of the jaunt was NOT over limited access highways. Finally, I made it to the 'dip, and noticed that Mountain Creek Grove, another park, is located immediately next to Serendipity...
