o Coconut Landing and the Big Island Report. Summer 2000. In the summer of 2000, My wife and I stayed at an idyllic cottage in Kehena, which is on the east coast of the Big Island, south south-east of Hilo and pretty close to the easternmost point on the island. It's called Coconut Landing, and you can check out its Web site at http://www.coconutlanding.com. The cottage is built on stilts and can sleep four (one king bed, one Murphy bed) and costs only about $80 per night (including taxes) for stays of a week or more. It's a good size, very bright, with lots of big screened windows, so it's almost like living outdoors. There's a huge fan shaped palm at eye level off the deck. You can pick a variety of tropial fruits off trees in the yard... (click preceding link to read the rest of the report.) Thanks Gary for the report!
o Kauai Trip Report in Hawaii. 2002. Kauai is the northernmost of the Hawaian Islands. We stayed in a (very) textile bed and breakfast in Princeville whose name is not worth mentioning. We had 3 naturist adventures: Secret Beach, Larsen's Beach and Auntie Angeline... (click preceding link to read the rest of the report.)
o Little Beach, Maui, Report. 2005. Just got back from 2 great weeks, and have to sing the praises of Little Beach on Mau'i. Got there on a Thursday morning around 10 a.m., and there were already some 80 other "buff-butts" there. We had a great time and were interested in the percentages (%) of shaved, and non. Seems as though, the guys, both straight & gay out number the girls by a slight margin. All gay men were shaved - totally. I, and the majority of straights were at least trimmed "seriously". All of the young women were shaved, or had a "patch" of interest. The only all naturals were the ladies in the 55-65 group. No problem with that; just reporting the "pubes". From Mau'i we went to Kaua'i, and found Larsens Beach. What a heaven on earth. Maybe 20/25 assorted nudists for a 1/2 to 3/4 of a mile. Surf was a bit high, but you could still get your butt in the water and cool off. A bit tricky to find, and there are a few homeless people living there (no problems we saw), and the sand is very nice. Not powder, but small grained and the shells are great. There are several places "up-from-the-beach" to be out of the wind, when it blows. Still lots of sun exposure, though. Take care, have fun and get rid of those tan lines. Mahalo. Thanks Norman for the report!
o Little Beach, Maui, Report. August 1998. My wife and I visited Little Beach on Maui in August of 1998. Little Beach (also called Little Makena Beach or Pu'u Ola'i Beach) is located near the southernmost point of Maui, adjacent to Makena Beach (also called Big Beach). Drive south from Kihei, past the Maui Prince Hotel for 1.5 miles, then turn right to the parking lot for Makena Beach. Big Beach is a gorgeous crescent beach, with bright colors that assault your eyes -- the turquoise ocean, sand the colour of "golden yellow" brown sugar, charcoal cliffs backing the beach, vivid green trees and bushes. But, sadly, no naked people... (click preceding link to read the rest of the report.) Thanks Gary for the report!
o Maui, Hawaii, Report. Have spent the last two weeks at The Maui Prince Resort, Makena, Maui, Hawaii. The Prince is one mile from the entrance to Little Beach, one of the best nude beaches I know of. We were at Little Beach about half of the days and the weather was great with nice surf for body and board surfing. Last Sunday, from our hotel room, we could see a lot of activity around the cinder cone behind the beach. A helicopter kept circling and going down to the beach. We were not able to run into anyone who was there and am anxious to know what was going on. I asked a policeman but he knew nothing and said ask a day shift man. Haven't had the chance to do that. The date was Oct. 31 Halloween and time was about 12 noon. I hope it is not harrassment like on the Big Island and Oahu. October/November 1999... o Secret Beach Report. Kauai, Hawaii. August 2001. Secret Beach is alive and well in Hawaii. I was able to spend two seperate days on Secret Beach. The first day was Friday. I arrived on the beach in the early afternoon. The beach is huge and there were only a few people there. I went to the left and found a couple of naturists there. I settled down a comfortable distance from them. As the day went on other naturists came and went. It looked to be about a 50/50 ratio between men and women naturists including a family that moved to a spot not to far away. The second day was Sunday. I went to about the same spot as before but there were only people and families wearing suits. Not wanting to push the issue at a clothing optional beach I started to explore. I found a rather large naturist area farther toward the right end of the beach. I was able to settle near the ocean and sun and swim for awhile. Clothing optional was still evident in the area but there were enough naturists in this area that I felt comfortable moving about without getting dressed. This lasted for a couple of hours when while I was out for a swim the bounderies seemed to change. Some of the naturists that had been around me started to leave and were replaced by non-naturists. I had no choice but to confidently walk through and pick up my belongings to move farther down the beach. I had no problem finding more naturists around. Again I settled down, this time for the rest of the day. Again the ratio was about 50/50 if not siding more to the female side. I was not able to socialize much but being solo I did not expect to. All in all I had a very pleasant time at the beach. Thanks Tnpnz for the report.
