Maui Sun Club, Maui
Early this month , (actually Feb 28 & Mar 1 & 2, 1999) my wife and I spent three night at Maui Sun Club (formerly Honokalani Ranch) just outside of Hana on the east coast of Maui.
After a lesiurely drive to Hana we arrived at the gate to the ranch. The directions provided were excellent, the site is very easy to find. We were greeted at check in and offered a choice between a cabin or rooms in the main building. We had reserved a cabin and stayed with the choice.
We had the Gecko Cabin which is closest to the main building but seperated by extremely dense foliage for complete privacy. Parking for the cabin is just out the door. The cabin is divide by a partial partion into a sleeping/sitting area and a cooking eating area. Outside a lanai (porch) wraps around three sides. With a nice bench by the front door.
The sleeping area has a nicely firm double bed and a single bed sized couch with cushions for sitting. There is a lamp over the couch which made for a very comfortable reading space in the evenings as it was a little too cool to sit out.
The kitchen is equipped with a double burner cook stove and a good size fridge. There are a good assortment of pot pans dishes and utensils. In addition a Weber grill and charcoal was provided. There was a table and chairs inside and a picnic table out front along with a number ot tiki lanterns, with provided a nice evening light in the yard.
The bathroom facilities are on the lanai behind the cabin open to the most beautiful tropical garden. and a private sitting area complete lounges. We spent a couple of hour ther just sunning and naping.
The main area was very nice and the hot tub was ready every night.
During our stay Georgieana held a reception and cookout at the main building Sunday night. On Monday there was a wedding. The service took place across the road in the state park then we all returned to the main house for a reception. I'm sure you'll read about the reception in the AANR journal in the coming months.
While we have gone to nude beaches at home and in our travels this was our first visit to nudist resort and was all in all most enjoyable. The scale was wonderful with just two other guest couples, although there is more space. Our hostesses hospitality was outstanding from the welcoming with maps of the local clothing optional locales to the receptions and hot tubs.
I can highly recommend visiting Maui Sun Club.
I will attempt to answer any questions received.
