Lake Como Club

Hidden away right next to the famous Paradise Lakes is a smaller but much older club that I am a member of. First resort in the state, Lake Como Club is by far my favorite place to go.

It is a family oriented place...lots of kids around, but they also cater to singles with two dances a week and a cute little bar called the Butt Hutt. Dances are in the nude and many have themes. Three visits per year are allowed before membership is manatory, and rates are relatively cheap, ranging from $9-15 per person a day.

We usually just hang out by the pool most of the day, but for more athletic types there are tennis court, volleyball courts, horseshoes, pool tables, paddle boats for the lake and lots more to do. There are 75 RV spots available with full hookup. A few rooms(22) to rent, nothing fancy, but very clean. Some rooms share a bathroom. Next to the pool is a restaurant which right now is only open on weekends, but I think that will be changing once the season gets going this fall. Food is fair and restaurant is run by volunteers. Not the high point of the resort!

The main reason I joined Como is for the extraordinarily friendly people there. I was made to feel right at home from day one and I would highly reccomend it to anyone, particularly first timers. Another thing I noticed was the great range of ages there. Even a few teens and twenty somethings. During the past year that I have been a member, there have been many activities taking place including a ski show in the lake, live performers at poolside, barbeques, and parties for the kids. They have also been a gathering place for several Internet based chat rooms.
