Maui Sun Club, Hawaii

May, 2001.

We just wanted to tell you about a wonderful place we found. For anyone going to Maui try the Maui Sun Club just outside of Hana. This is a wonderful place, small and private and GREAT!. They have two “apartments” and 3 jungle cabins, you couldn't want for anything nicer. It is rustic and off the power grid so no T.V. or radio but it is great. Our cabin had a gas refrigerator and stove as well as a compact kitchen. We used lanterns and solar lights. The lanterns were more romantic. Also there were tiki torches outside. In our cabin the bathroom (which was a normal bathroom) was about 20 feet from the cabin and really nice and all ours. We showered outside and if you have never done that or showered in the rain you have something wonderful coming. Each cabin has a private yard, bar-b-q and parking area. There are several nude beaches in the area. This is a place to relax. There is a wood fire heated hot tub always ready by 6 p.m. The owner Gerogianna Dryer is a gem.

The drive to Hana is wonderful too. It takes about 2 hrs. to go about 50 miles but you will not even notice the time. It is a beautiful drive. About 30 miles is one lane each way with about 65 1-lane bridges. These are small maybe 10- 15 feet long but wonderful. It is so lush and peaceful. The town of Hana is small by any standards but there are a couple of stores for what you will need to buy. We did stop at Costco before we went out and even made it with ice cream in a cooler bag. We did 5 days and lots of driving on less than 2 tanks of gas and it isn’t any more than it is in San Diego per gallon. On Wednesday evenings there is a pizza night at the Hana Ranch House, which is good. They are open for dinner Friday and Saturday. You can get dinner to go till 7 p.m. the other days if you call ahead. This town closed at dark. Georgianna will give you maps of all the good nude sites to visit on the island.

What we are telling you is if you can you should try this wonderful place. We can assure you we will be back there just as soon as we can.

Aloha Steve and Bonney.
