Timberline Resort (Tennessee) Report

Timberline Resort, Tennessee

February, 2001

We took what was going to be a "day" trip down to Timberline Resort in Crossville Tennessee.. we arrived at approximately 3 p.m., we were greeted by a young lady who's name is Megann.. we had called earlier to see if it was ok to come down a take a look around.. you see, Timberline does not open officially until March 1.

Megann was absolutely wonderful.. she asked if we were the couple that called earlier..we said yes, and she called on a radio to let someone named Glenn know we were there.. Glenn is the owner.. she issued us a gate card to get in and sent us down to the lodge, where Glenn met us.. we realized that things must be pretty hectic because of the opening in less than 4 days... but Glenn really assured us that he wanted to show us the resort and that time was no issue.. after the tour he asked if we were really going back to ohio that evening...we said we had planned to and he offered a room in the lodge for the evening.. we took him up on that.. he gave us a gate card so that we could go out that evening for dinner.

The facilities at timberline are really nice..the lodge has several rooms and townhouse.. the lodge also houses the restaurant/bar, and the pool is at the end of the lodge.. there is a real nice gift shop.. they have chalets and a parkmodel rv for rent , volleyball court, lake with boats canoes, and paddleboats.. the tent area is right on the lake and Glenn has constructed a real nice building for tenters that has a kitchen with refrigerators so they can store their supplies.

Glenn and his staff have really gone the extra mile to make this facility top notch.. even with their season opening in just four days, the went out of their way to make us feel welcome and answered every question we had.. we are looking forward to going back later this spring... one other thing we forgot to mention... Glenn's resident groundsman, Dale, had coffe made the next morning and also took the time to answer any of our questions.. Glenn has a real goldmine with Dale...very positive and great personality... we cannot wait to return.
