This was our second visit, virtually twelve months since the last. This time we chose the warmest February Friday for 38 years! The high was 16 C!
Described in it's brochure as a "Health Spa for naturists", Silverleigh is located a few miles from junction 3 of the M25, not far from Brands Hatch. Fronted by large car park, the building looks as though it started life as a large chalet bungalow and has grown a lot since it was first built. Gardens to the rear provide space for laying in the sun, but not for us - it wasn't that warm!
When you enter Silverleigh it's a little like entering a Tardis, much bigger inside than outside. The facilities include a reasonable size heated indoor pool, two Jacuzzi's, a steam room and a sauna. There is also a small gym, which we didn't visit, and a couple of rooms where you can get an excellent aromatherapy massage. There are also several rest rooms.
Lockers and a changing facility are available for day visitors. Next to reception is a lounge with an adjacent kitchen. If you're a smoker this is the only room smoking is allowed. Food, in the form of light meals, salads and snacks is available from the kitchen, we enjoyed excellent lasagnes. All food prepared to order at reasonable prices.
Having divested ourselves of our clothes we wandered to the pool and started the round of swimming, steam room, sauna, Jacuzzi, lounging around talking to other visitors, making new friends and off again! We both enjoyed very relaxing aromatherapy massages.
Friday evening is for couples and single ladies only, single men have to leave before 7 p.m. On our second visit there were more couples than the previous one.
Silverleigh is not licensed, but you can bring you own alcohol of choice, and the Friday evenings we visited a friendly almost party atmosphere prevailed about the place. Many of the couples obviously new each other very well, we found everyone very friendly and spent the evening in the pool area chatting to other guests/members. As the evening progressed the rest rooms became more popular.
We enjoyed our second visit to Silverleigh and plan to visit more often in the future.
